William Eugene Loomis

William Eugene Loomis “Grandpa Bill”, 84, of Old Hickory, TN, passed away suddenly on October 12, 2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. William and his twin brother, Willard was born on June 22, 1937 in Henderson, New York to Henry “Hank” Wesley and Muriel Jermie Beyer Loomis.

Bill graduated from Fulton High School in 1955 in New York and then joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas and Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma. Bill was a part Strategic Air Command.

Bill married and had four children and resided in Texas. Bill had many careers after leaving the Armed Forces. He received his associate’s degree in blueprint engineering from Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas. He worked as a security officer until the day he passed away.

Bill loved to listen to live music and requesting his favorite songs. He moved to Nashville, TN in 2018 with his son after his wife of ten years passed away. He had many people in the community that loved him and called him Grandpa. He made friends with everyone, with his fun way about life.

William Eugene Loomis is survived by his son and two daughters, Thomas Loomis (Yuki, wife) Rebecca Loomis Davis (David, husband), and Deborah Loomis. Along with six grandchildren Kristopher, Kristine, Wesley Todd, Jordan, Katie, and West. Great grandchildren Mary Jane and Jaxon.

He was preceded in death by his wife Christina Loomis, his son William Wesley Loomis, his parents, Henry Wesley Loomis, Muriel Jermie Beyer Loomis, his twin brother, Willard Gene Loomis and his eldest brother Henry “Sonny” Loomis Jr.

Bill will be cremated according to his wishes, with no formal services. A celebration of life will be arranged for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to be made to the American Heart Association.
