Manager and Acting Funeral Director of Lumen Cremation, LLC.
Tiffany Widener remembers the moment she felt a distinct calling to work in the funeral service profession. It was while attending the memorial service of a police officer who worked with Tiffany’s husband and died tragically in the line of duty in July of 2004. From that point forward, Tiffany was committed to serving and supporting those facing challenging end-of-life situations. Through this work, Tiffany knew she could make a difference in the lives of others.
This wasn’t the first time she faced a heightened awareness of her own mortality and the needs that come with it. A decade prior, she was involved in a near-fatal car accident and spent years recovering from extensive injuries, enduring one reconstructive surgery after another. This experience spurred a passion to walk alongside others during difficult times.
A Nashville native, Tiffany attended John A. Gupton Mortuary College, graduating as valedictorian in 2006 while also being awarded the TN Funeral Directors Association full scholarship as well as a scholarship from The 100 Black Women of Funeral Service organization. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business management and human relations from Trevecca Nazarene University and completed a funeral director and embalmer apprenticeship with the State of Tennessee the same year. Tiffany later earned a master’s degree in public service management from Cumberland University, going on to serve at various locations throughout Middle Tennessee before joining our team at Lumen.
She is married to her high school sweetheart, Tommy, and is a proud mother of two sons, Jordan and Brody. She also has three dogs (her beloved “fur babies”), along with a cat who mostly tolerates her attention. Says Tiffany, “I know without a shadow of a doubt that this profession is my calling and ministry. My greatest success and fulfillment in life comes from the personal blessings my faith and family bring to my heart every single day.”
